It is a matter of beauty

    “Have a DIVA-LICIOUS dAY”

I came across this article about a particular cosmetics line and the information in it is very valuable for anyone to use.  Whether it is this line or DivaGlam, or any other line you want to use.
The thing about women is that we are very diversified when it comes to makeup and I know that, I myself have several items from several other lines that I enjoy and use as well as my own line.  So please don’t hesitate to try out different lines, what may work for this women and be good for her may not necessarily be good for you.  So do try other things, by all means if it works then use it.  Enjoy the article.
    DivaGlam Cosmetics

    CREATING INDIVIDUALIZED LOOKS

Avant-garde or glamorous evening looks are created using more contrast in color tones. Colors chosen can contrast dramatically with each other or with personal coloring. At night, try highlights with shimmer and deep contour shadows. For a bold or playful look try using colors from both warm and cool families. One idea combines the golden Sunstone and Tigereye shades on the eyes with blue-based Garnet applied to the lips.

    FACE COLOR

CONCEALER glides on with the flat side and tip of the concealer-face brush or sponge. Apply to discolored areas. Blend away edges.

FOUNDATION can be applied with the concealer-face brush in a stroking motion or use a sponge with a patting motion. Foundation should be applied from the center of the face to the perimeter. This provides coverage where needed and less chance of a “lollipop look” when the face and neck do not match.

BLUSH should look like “pinched cheeks” with color along the cheekbone. This is accomplished with the contour-blush brush in a motion lifting color from under the bone, onto the bone. Work the brush from the mid-ear toward the apple of the cheek. The apple of the cheek is the raised pad of flesh seen when you smile. This lifting style of blush application enhances bone structure by framing the cheekbones.

BRIGHTENER applied with the contour-blush brush adds a glow as desired on the forehead, chin or eyelids. The brightener can be brushed along cheekbones to blend blush application or to use instead of blusher altogether.

BRONZER can be used as a contour to define bone structure or create a sun-kissed glow to the entire face. Contour the cheekbone by applying bronzer with the contour-blush brush horizontally under the cheekbone from mid-ear to the area below the outer brow. Lift the brush upward to blend. Contour the jaw line with bronzer under the jaw-bone. Start behind the ear and work toward the chin. The nose is contoured downward along the sides from the inner brow to the tip of the nose. Be sure to squeeze the brush between the thumb and forefinger to keep the shading narrow along the sides of the nose. Dusting bronzer across nose, cheek-bones, chin and forehead perimeter and into the hairline creates a healthy glow. Note: Blending with foundation before applying can soften the effects of any shade.

    EYE COLOR

EYELID BASE fully covers eyelid from lash to brow. Base works to block any natural darkness and provide a surface over which any other shadow will glide. Use both sides of eye shadow brush to apply in windshield wiper” strokes. (Crystal, Opal, Tigereye, Concealer*)

EYE HIGHLIGHT accents brow arch, but does not cover entire browbone. Apply with pointed tip of eye shadow brush pressing up into brow arch and blending in a one-inch wide arc. Too much light color on the browbone creates a detracting “awning effect.” Your eyes should be the true stars of your makeup.

EYELID COLOR covers the area from the lash line to the socket and brow bone. A bright, light shadow (brightener*) can be applied to lid above the iris to accent a deep-set eye. A deep, taupe shade (Geode) can make a large, prominent lid appear less so. Apply with the flat side of the eye shadow brush in a pressing motion across the area holding the point toward the lashes and the handle upward.

EYE CONTOUR defines bone structure. Apply with the tapered side of the eye shadow brush. Stroke on shadow from the outer eye inward along the brow bone to an area above the inner iris. Blend upward and outward so there are no visible lines.

EYE LINER can be defined or smudged but should always connect to the base of the lashes. Special looks can be created by varying color and technique at top and bottom lash lines, but liner color should not be brighter than eye color. A smudged line is created with the tapered side or tip of eye shadow brush. A defined line is created with shadow on the tip of the eyeliner brush. This brush can be used damp or dry. The eyeliner brush is most effective when held like a pencil with the handle pointing downward. The brush can then press “hyphens” of color up into top and bottom lash lines. Work liner from the outer eye inward, so liner never stops abruptly, but subtly. The more wet the brush, the more defined the effect and intense the color.

EYEBROW COLOR should frame and lift the eye with a groomed arch shape. Work color into the brow hairs or onto the skin with the eyeliner brush in a stroking motion. The color mixture should match or harmonize with hair color tone. (Geode or mixture)

    DivaGlam Brush Set

Note: Remember to tap excess color off brushes first to avoid messy shadow and liner application. Never blow excess color off brushes. This may introduce bacteria into your brushes and shadows, causing eye infections. Any shadow that falls onto cheekbone is easily cleaned up using foundation on the concealer-foundation brush and gliding on under the eye and along the top of the cheekbone.

Brush Care: Shampoo Franché® quality brushes weekly in mild soap, rinsing thoroughly and squeezing out excess water Spray or dip into rubbing alcohol, squeeze to remove excess, and reshape. Dry flat on a towel. Alcohol speeds the drying process by displacing the water NEVER soak or immerse brushes in liquid, only moisten bristles to clean. Correct brush care lengthens brush life and assures a cleaner makeup application.

Note: Wash sponges daily with soap and water to keep long lasting products clean.

EYE TREAT is a light creamy concealer base and under eye treatment that has been infused with herbs. It should be applied sparingly under the eye and extended outward above the cheekbone. This helps plump delicate eye tissue and minimize the appearance of lines and dark circles. Use Eye Treat to blend and remoisturize under eye area any as needed. This base works best when used with Franché® concealer.

    DivaGlam TransFix

BROW TAME as the name implies, controls brows to hold a groomed arch. If you have used Franché® pigments to design your brow shape, use Brow Tame to set the color.

Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The words in your content seem to be running off the screen in Opera. I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I thought I’d post to let you know. The design look great though! Hope you get the issue fixed soon. I am really loving the theme/design of your website. Do you ever run into any browser compatibility issues? A small number of my blog visitors have complained about my site not working correctly in Explorer but looks great in Chrome. Do you have any ideas to help fix this issue?

    “HAVE A DIVA-licious DAY”

I received this article from one of my fashion sources and I decided to share.  The article is about wearing Black fingernail polish, which believe it or not, I do happen to like the look.  I am not especially fond of the look in the article but I did see an article with another model and her nails where short and square and she had black nail polish on it look very nice.

Of course I realize that the color black on the nails is not everyones cup of tea, and when we think of black nails we automatically think Goth.  But it actually can look very classy and elegant if done correctly and worn at a length that is short.  So if you have never tried this look maybe your should, my moto is nothing ventured nothing gained. Enjoy the article.

The truth is that it is a trend that I like, and favors me most of the time, but you have to be careful. It is a look that can be super elegant, but if you’re not careful, it could be the opposite.

So in today’s tip I will tell you some secrets so that you don’t make any mistakes:

Wear your nails short and well filed.

If you have small hands, file your nails long to make the fingers appear finer.

If you are wearing dark nails, make sure that they are always impeccable; there is nothing less glamorous than wearing broken nails, especially if they are dark because it will be more noticeable.

Also dark matte colors, they favor less than the ones that are glossy, (you can apply a gloss layer on top).

Always apply nail protector, because dark colors can get your nails dirty.

If you are using dark nail polish, go changing the style with a lighter varnish, and let your nails rest a couple days per week

    Shedding in Winter

    Shedding YOUR brown spots
    Tuesday January 12, 2010

It is very important for us to keep our skin covered even during the winter months.  The more melanin in the skin the less sun damaged but there is sun damage non the less if we don’t take of ourselves with sunscreen For our fairer sisters it is really important to have sunscreen even in our makeup that we wear on our face.  DivaGlam Cosmetics Mineral Cosmetics has sunscreen in it and you want to make sure to use extra sunscreen for your skin type.

The following is an article that I came across and I felt that my readers would learn alot of information about sunspots and skin, the treatment and causes of brown spots.  Please feel free to comment and let us know what you think of the article and how helpful it was for you.  Enjoy

Shedding Your (Brown) Spots in Winter

When your arms and legs are pasty winter white, any brown spots or discolorations really stand out. Luckily, this is also the best time of year to do skin treatments to remove them — because you’re more likely to be wearing long sleeves and pants that can hide any crusts and scabs while you heal. Here are some of the ways I treat brown spots in my office:

Liquid nitrogen is a tried-and-true method of removing brown spots and harmless raised growths on the arms and legs. Using a canister that looks like a spray gun, I squirt the cold nitrogen through a nozzle. This freezes the growth or spot but leaves the normal skin around it untouched. It stings for a few seconds, then the treated area bubbles up into a red welt. Within a day or two the welt goes down and turns into a dark scab, similar to the kind you’d get if you burned yourself on a curling iron or stove burner. Scabs on the arms may take a week to fall off; scabs on the legs can take two weeks or longer.

Laser treatments can help fade brown spots. Certain lasers are designed to target the skin’s melanin pigment and break it up. In general, smaller, darker spots (especially those on the backs of the hands) respond better than lighter, larger ones because there is more pigment to interact with the laser. Each pulse of the laser feels like a hot pinprick, then the areas turn red for a few days; any crusting that forms falls off in about a week. You’ll get the best results if you’re not tan.

Chemical peels can help remove sun damage and spots caused by sun exposure. For individual spots, I dab the chemical peel solution onto each spot. They typically crust within a week and may take two weeks to peel off.

Don’t forget sunscreen. Even in the middle of winter, harmful UV rays can pass through your car windows and through the glass window of your home or office. If you do undergo any of these skin treatments, be sure to keep the treated areas covered up — freshly lasered or peeled skin can heal even darker than before if it’s exposed to the sun while it’s healing

    Exercise done the SKECHERS WAY

HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE.  I just want to say that during this time of year many of us begin to think about our lives and what we did this year and what we would like to do in the coming New Year, Well I am no different than you.

For Christmas my husband got me the Skechers tennis shoes.  When you walk you can lose weight and strenghten back muscles, tone leg calfs, help to correct posture etc.  I got them and was happy to do so because like most of you I want to lose a few pounds in the coming year.  So with that said I began my journey to health with these shoes.

    Shape-Ups are designed to:

    •Promote weight loss

    •Strengthen the back

    •Firm calf and buttock muscles

•Reduce cellulite and tone your thighs

    •Increase cardiovascular health

    •Improve posture

The first day I wore them I must have worn them for tooooooo long because I started to complain to my daughter that my back was hurting and then she reminded me that you are suppose to break the shoes in and wear them a little at a time until you get use to walking the correct way.  Needless to say when I got home I took them off, but I will say that I do feel a difference in my back and stomach muscles, which is great because if you are anything like me I hate to exercise, and will not go to a Gym for all to see me!
This was my second day wearing them and I did not walk as much in them as the first day but I love them.
So if you are out there and thought about getting a pair and you are anything like me and hate the idea of a gym or any kind of scheduled exercise, try these shoes.  Of course they will never take the place of regular scheduled exercise but at least as you go about your regular day you can make a difference in your body.

Until next time then,  Stay DIVA-licious…….

The DIVA LOOK of the 40′s & 50′s

This makeup look is inspired by the 40s and 50s, bringing a very sophisticated and glamorous look. Those decades stood out for their sophisticated image of extreme femininity: immaculate complexions, deep eyes and looks, and very red lips. This look will suit all of you, so read on.

    Skin

Complexion is key to this season’s makeup. To create a clear complexion we must achieve a uniform surface without weighing the skin down with make up. The face must look as natural as possible. Caribbean tans and bright red cheeks are out. This season brings a healthy look, fresh healthy-looking faces. Choose the foundation closest to your skin color. The market offers a huge variety. Perfect Touch by Yves Saint Laurent is a very light foundation that offers amazing results. Its format, with a brush applicator, keeps you from getting dirty fingers. You won’t need to use sponges again. Another option is Perfectly Real makeup in Shade by Clinique.  Or don’t forget DivaGlam Cosmetics as well.

    Eyes

    HAPPY HOLIDAYS

Eyes are the focus of makeup – catty looks that create an almond-shape effect. Colors don’t follow the trend of the 40s and 50s. You can choose the ones which suit you best, but keep in mind that this season we’ll be seeing a lot of dark or navy blue, coffee, ochre, and browns in general. Remember to finish off your eyes’ look and almond shape with a touch of black. Eyeliner is a strong trend this year. Automatic Eyeliner by Yves Saint Laurent is a good choice. Its incredible precision will make it your perfect ally for the season.

    Add mystery to your eyes

To add mystery and glamour to your eyes, you mustn’t forget to apply mascara. Choose the one that suits your style best. Black is an all-time favorite, but dark blue is also a good option this season.

    Lips

This season’s lips come in strong colors. Red tones are a fury, together with the whole range of plum, raspberry and Bordeaux colors. Don’t forget to treat them before applying makeup. Remember that firm healthy skin will really improve the way their look. Don’t forget to apply lip liner to keep the lipstick from smearing. This season’s tones are dark or very defined, so your stroke must be perfect. The shape you give is up to you but a Cupid‘s bow will make your lips look very sensual.

    Nails
When it comes to nails you must choose between two opposites: either bare or dark colored. The latest trend is wearing light colors, white or nearly transparent on your fingernails and black, red, Bordeaux or another very dark color on your toenails. This will create a contrast, giving you a very modern look. Try it out and you’ll see how great it looks.
I hope you put this advice into practice so that this coming season your look will be more glamorous than ever.

    DIVAS Scarlet Season

So I did not write this article but I did get it from one of my sources and I love the red color of the lipstick and her comments on the product.  RED is of course HOT for the Christmas Season and DivaGlam has some Great REDS FOR YOU.  For this article we will review Chanel’s Red lipstick.  Enjoy the article and do go out and try a RED for yourself, either DivaGlam’s or Chanel’s!
The Scarlet Season: Chanel Passion Rouge Allure Lipstick

    Chanel Passion Lipstick #1

    Chanel Passion Lipstick #2

The Scarlet Season: Chanel Passion Rouge Allure Lipstick

Chanel Passion Rouge Allure Lipstick ($30.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a richly pigmented, medium bright red that leans only slightly blue, but otherwise reads fairly neutral on my lips. It applies easily and evenly (though it should be worn with a lip liner to keep it inside the lines so-to-speak) and has a glossy sheen. I like how hydrating the Rouge Allure formula is, and I can appreciate the high level of pigmentation that accompanies it, too.

What about you? Would you wear this red?

You can sure expect to see a lot of red this holiday season!

I hope you enjoyed this article and please expect more to come!

    Have a DIVAlicious Day,

DIVAS shoes & New Season Preparation

    http://www.divaglamcosmeticsllc.com/

Okay so yesturday I wrote to all of you about the exciting new site I discovered from Kim Kardashian.  I told all of you about the questions that you answer in order for them to get you style likes and dislikes down.  Well today when I opened up my e-mail they had already gotten my style and sent me my first suggestions for shoes.  I am going to share them with you.  I must say that there are really two pair that I absolutely could see myself wearing.  Following is the e-mail that I received from MY PERSONAL SHOE SHOPPERS!

    http://www.shoedazzle.com/
    November Shoes Are Ready

We are delighted to present you with your 5 shoe selections for November. This month’s collection features sassy closed-toes to keep your style on the rise as the mercury drops, boots of all heights, from short and chic to over-the-knee, and elegant special-occasion styles because the holidays are just around the corner, signaling one thing - it’s time to get glam!

Login now to see your Showroom:   I must say that I love that line “to see my Showroom”!

So now I am going to show you the shoes that were especially picked with my likes and dislikes in mind.  Oh yea,  if I really don’t like these I have the option to get another set of selections, which I am going to do simply because I want to see what else they come up with.  Here are my PERSONAL SELECTIONS to choose from.

I must say that from this list of shoes I like this pair and I am thinking of ordering them.  Remember only 39.99 a month for stylest shoes.  Good Price!  This shoe gets an AAAAAAAAAAAA+

Not really into this shoes that much, besides I already own a pair close to this look.Although I already own a pair that looks simiular I would rate this shoe a B+

This shoe I give a C, really a little calm for me.

This shoe is a must buy for me.  I love the height and the platform and the style will go with lots of looks in my wardrobe.  This shoes gets an AAAAAAAA+
Now with this shoe I feel they were just a little off, I do like flats, but this one just does not do it for me.
This was the last selection offered to me and it is just okay so I would rate this shoe at a C-
All in all I am very impressed with the outcome of the selections and I am very impressed with the company itself for the feel and the service that they provide to us DIVAS.
Now to the Makeup this season.  This is a New Season and we always want to look and feel our best.  Somethimes we have to get rid of what works and what doesn’t work.
    DivaGlam Harvest Colors
    DivaGlam Cosmetics

This weekend I have to clean and organize my closet and makeup bag to make way for the new season. Honestly, just thinking about it makes me tired, but it has to be done.

I do the same thing every year – I organize the clothes in my closet, take out everything I don’t wear, and store the rest for next spring/summer. Then I get out my fall/winter clothing and put it in the closet.

I do the same with my beauty and makeup products. I review everything I have, get rid of things I don’t use, and save things I don’t plan on using right now. Order is very important to me :-) even though I am not a big fan of the procedure that gets me there…

How about you? How do you prepare for the beginning of the new season?

How to lengthen and lift eyes so they go on forever

If you line the inner rims of your eyes with kohl, always remember to go the whole way from the inner corners to the outer corners. This will make your eyes look longer.

If you use liquid liner, never forget to finish off the outer corner of your eyes. Continue the line a little beyond the eye. Lengthening your eye in this way will lift it.
Tricks from makeup artists that everyone can use! What do you think?

    Have a DIVAlicious Day,

    MeChelle

Have you ever thought about including a little bit more than just your articles? I mean, what you say is important and all. But just imagine if you added some great images or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”! Your content is excellent but with images and clips, this blog could definitely be one of the greatest in its niche. Amazing blog!

    LIPS, LIPS, AND MORE LIPS

    DAVOS/SWITZERLAND, 29JAN05 - Angelina Jolie, G...Image via Wikipedia

In the years that I have been a makeup artist the question that I receive most especially in recent years is in regards to the LIPS.  Everbody wants full, plump, juicy, lips, Angelina Jolie came on the scene and all of a sudden BIG LIPS were in.  Africian American women have had these lips for centuries but it became fashionable when she arrived on the scene.

With that said, I am going to tell you about a few products that I personally use on my clients to create the illusion of full volumpous lips.
Step one:  always start with a smooth mouth, this can be created with several products but the one that I have found that I like to use and it is very reasonable is “lip appeal” by Beauticontrol Cosmetics.  It comes in a container and has a mask on the top which you apply to the lips and let dry then wipe off, taking off all of the dry skin with it.  After that the bottom has a lip balm that I then apply and rub into the lips until absorbed.
Step two:  Next is to get a very good lip plumper, and again there are many out there now.  Of all the ones I have tried I can recommend “Victoria Secrets Lip Plump”  they have two, one is regular and the other is what they call extreme plump.  Wipe that across the lips and then tissue off after a few seconds or so.  You do this so that you can apply your lipstick or lipglossYou just want the plumper to work to create the look and then you add the color.
Step three:  Outline the lips right on the lip line, use a color pencil that is in a neutral color matching your lips or one that is very close to the lipstick color or lipgloss color you are using.  Please apply the color whether gloss or lipstick with a lip brush.  This does two things, first it gives you control of the color and second you can control exactly where the color is applied.
Rememer that the lip plump is only a temporary solution, but they do work and they are fun to use for a special occasion.  Have fun.

    Sacha Cosmetics

I have been in the makeup business since 1984 and when I first started you had to mix colors of makeup to get the right color for certain skin colors.  Sometimes it worked sometimes it was just a little off.
Since that time I have researched and studied and applied and tried all types of cosmetics and all products that claimed to be for the color of women.  It was not until recent years that most major cosmetic companies decided  that our color range was worth investing in.

In 2004 I founded DivaGlam Cosmetics and began to use my own line to put on my models and women who wanted a product that looked natural on them.  Now a days there are so many companies that are trying to do the same thing.  I have found only a few that really cater to the color of women and today I am going to talk about one of them.  Sacha Cosmetics, was founded and formulated with the color of women in mind.  It is a yellow based product and that works for most skin coloring.

The color ranges from very light to very dark and it works for all colors in between.   To see their full line please visit their website at http://www.sachacosmetics.com/, I am sure you will find a shade to fit your needs.
If discoloration is a problem their camoflage makeup with cover and stay on all day and look natural so no one will be able to tell where the problems are.

Well that is all I have to say about Sacha Cosmetics today, please feel free to go visit their site and holla back at me and let me know what you think.

    Have a DIVAlicous Day,

I know this if off topic but I’m looking into starting my own weblog and was curious what all is needed to get set up? I’m assuming having a blog like yours would cost a pretty penny? I’m not very internet savvy so I’m not 100% certain. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Kudos

    Hello

Hey, these are just a few of my favorite pics to share with everyone.  Some are of me and the company.  A pair of my favorite boots!  Pics of Beyonce, love her style and Rihanna, really love her style.  I hope you enjoy them.
It has been a very busy weekend and I have not had a chance to really sit down and do much of anything.  I did my broadcast on Saturday morning and then went out with my husband.  I finished an article and sent it in to be published and after that I had to get ready for Church this morning.
Makeup is my love and fashion is really a passion for me.  I sooooooooooooooo enjoy what I do and would do it even if I did not get paid.  Thank God I get paid for my work, but honestly I would do it just because.
I once read where someone said that if you do what you love to do that the money will follow,  I find that to be very true.
Have a awesome weekend and I will holla back at you next week.
    Have a DIVAlicious Day

Hey this is kind of of off topic but I was wanting to know if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding knowledge so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
